EASTCONN Presents Cultivating Resilience: Integrating Social-Emotional Learning & Academics for Success

School superintendents, principals, teachers, school psychologists, early childhood educators and curriculum leaders are invited to attend EASTCONN’s Cultivating Resilience: Integrating Social-Emotional Learning & Academics for Success, a two-day symposium that will take place on Tues., April 30, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and on Tues., May 7, 2019, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., at EASTCONN’s Conference Center, 376 Hartford Turnpike, Hampton, CT.

Featuring two keynote presentations, breakout sessions and a follow-up day of strategic mapping, this symposium offers research-based, proven approaches to creating safe, engaging schools that integrate social, emotional and academic learning.

Keynote speakers include Bill Zima and Ron Berger. Zima is superintendent of Regional School Unit #2, in Maine, long considered a leader in the creation of learner-centered, proficiency-based approaches to education. Berger is chief program officer for EL Education, a non-profit, school improvement network, and is the lead author of the newly released ASPEN report, “A Nation of Hope.”  

Presented by EASTCONN’s Center for Educational Leadership, this symposium includes breakout sessions presented by eastern Connecticut professionals and administrators with backgrounds in early childhood, K-12 teaching and learning, special education and school psychology.
