Willimantic - EASTCONN’s Arts at the Capitol Theater (ACT) students will present a variety of vocal, dance and theatrical performances at their 3rd Annual Noche Hispaña (Spanish Night) on Thurs., Feb. 16, 2017, at 6:30 p.m., at the Capitol Theater, 896 Main St., Willimantic.
The public is invited to attend and admission is free. Proceeds from refreshments, which will be available for sale during intermission, will support students’ cultural excursion to Costa Rica and Nicaragua this spring.
“Since the performance is taking place during Valentine week, most pieces will have the theme of Amor,” said ACT Spanish teacher David Hinds. “The audience can expect some traditional Latin music, but students also have translated some songs into Spanish.”
The performance group comprises students from all grade levels; some who will showcase the Spanish language they have mastered in classes taken at ACT; and others who are native Spanish speakers. Noche Hispaña is appropriate for all ages.
“Ven a celebrar las culturas hispanas con nosotros,” said Hinds. “Come celebrate the Hispanic cultures with us.”
