SESSION ONE Tuesday 10/9/18
Topic: Breaking Down Barriers to Implementing BIPs: Using the Problem-Solving Model as a Roadmap to Success.
Overview: Comprehensive function- based behavior intervention plans (BIPs) are critical to improving problem behaviors, but a well-written BIP is only half the battle. This presentation will highlight use of the problem-solving model as a framework to respond to common statements of resistance and review proactive strategies that maximize effective implementation of behavior intervention plans. A variety of research-based strategies will be delineated across problem-solving steps, and a case study highlighting key concepts taught will support application of strategies reviewed. Topics for 12/7, 3/3/18, and 5/10/19 will be determined based on your feedback from session 1!
