September 25, 2020 Update
Important news from EASTCONN Food Services
Effective September 25, 2020, school breakfast and lunch are FREE for all children 18 years and younger.
This federally mandated benefit will be in effect until June 30, 2021, unless funds are exhausted sooner by the United States Department of Agriculture.
This benefit applies to children in school, remote learning students and any child, 18 years or younger, that requires meals.

June 25, 2020 Update
Monday, June 29th, meals will be distributed for two days, and then Food Service will be closed from 6/30-7/6.
Meal Distribution will resume on Tuesday, July 7th, meals pick up between 9 -10 am.
Summer Breakfast and Lunch Distribution schedule:
Tuesdays (3days) & Fridays (4 days): 9 -10 am
And will continue till August 31st or the first day of school, whichever comes first, at these locations Scotland Elementary, Hampton Elementary, Pomfret Community School, Horace Porter Columbia, Sterling Community School, Brooklyn Middle School, Gilead Hill Hebron, and Bolton High School.

The distribution for schedule for the weeks of 18th-29th will be as follows:
Monday the 18th – pick up 2 days
Wednesday the 20th - 3 days
Friday the 22nd – 4 days
Monday the 25th – OFF – Memorial Day.
Wednesday the 27th – normal distribution resumes.
April 10, 2020 Update
EASTCONN Food Services will still be serving food during Spring Break. Pick up between 8-9 am April 13-17, 2020.
April 6, 2020 Update
The below-listed site(s) now fall under the COVID-19 Community-wide Emergency Meal Program, which grants access to any child age 18 years or younger to receive meal(s) at any of our meal service and distribution sites. They do not have to be a resident or attend school, a parent or guardian may pull up and specify how many children are in their care and we will provide them with meals.
Meals are available to be picked up for multiple days on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays between 8am – 9am. If you reside in any of these towns and you are unable to access, please contact Heather Plourde @ 860-455-1552 to make other arrangements.

Spring Break Meals will be available for pick up for our normal distribution schedule!

April 1, 2020 Update
In observance of Good Friday, we have modified the Grab n’ Go Meal Distribution schedule at the Scotland, Hampton, Pomfret, Columbia, Sterling, Hebron, Brooklyn and Bolton locations for next week as follows:
Monday, April 6, between 8am-9am, parents/guardians will be able to Grab n’ Go breakfast and lunch for three days, per child, and
Thursday April 9, between 8am-9am, parents/guardians will be able to Grab n’ Go up breakfast and lunch for four days, per child.
There will be no pick up on Wednesday or Friday during this week and we intend on returning to our regular distribution schedule after the holiday weekend.
We are respectfully requesting that if you are not feeling well, please make arrangements to have someone pick up your children’s meals, and if you are unable to do so, please call Heather Plourde at 860-455-1552 to make alternative arrangements.
Also, if you, or anyone that you know, is willing and able to donate masks to the help us ensure the safety of our 40-plus child nutrition team members and volunteers, please contact Heather Plourde at 860-455-1552 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
March 23, 2020 Update
We have developed the following protocol for distribution of our Grab n' Go meals that will be handed out at Scotland Elementary, Hampton Elementary School, Pomfret Community School, Horace Porter, Sterling Community School, Brooklyn Middle School, Gilead Hill in Hebron and Bolton High School on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 8:00 - 9:00 AM.
- Line up in cars on the side the designated pickup door.
- Please Do Not Leave your vehicle or enter the building.
- Tell us your student's name and how many children in your care that need meals.
- Wait in vehicle with trunk or rear door open and staff will place meals in your vehicle.
- Staff WILL NOT put meals through an open front window.

March 22, 2020 Update
EASTCONN Food Service Grab n’ Go Emergency Meals
Beginning Monday March 23, we will be adding a third pick-up day! Now Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, between 8-9 a.m. Multiple* days of Reimbursable Breakfasts and Lunches for ALL students** and ALL other children in the household, 18 years and younger, will be available for pick-up by a parent or guardian. * Mondays & Wednesdays 2 breakfasts & 2 lunches and Fri 3 breakfasts & 3 lunches will be provided per child.

March 16, 2020 Update
EASTCONN Food Service is providing meals to children 18 and under while schools and programs are closed, in our best efforts to accommodate our communities during this unprecedented time. Parents or guardians of students enrolled in Sterling Community School, Pomfret Community School, Horace W. Porter, Scotland Elementary School and Hampton Elementary School and the districts of Hebron, Bolton and Brooklyn may pick up bagged breakfasts and lunches for their student(s) and any other children in their care. This service will be available 8 am - 9 am on Mondays and we will provide 2 breakfasts and 2 lunches for each child, and on Wednesdays, 3 breakfasts and 3 lunches will be provided for each child.
In the event that EASTCONN’s ACT, LEAP, QMC, EAP, EVC, and NRP students are unable to access meals from their sending districts, please contact EASTCONN Director of Food Services, Heather Plourde, at 860-455-1552 to arrange pick-up from one of the sites listed above or to make other accommodations, if possible.
