2-Generational/English Language Learners Family Literacy

Through EASTCONN’s multi-generation family literacy program, instruction and support is offered to encourage families to read and learn together. If you live in Windham or the Willimantic area, you may be able to take FREE English classes while your children attend Head Start or Early Head Start during the day or participate in our educationally rich childcare in the evening. If you qualify, both you and your child can join this exciting educational program. Regular attendance is required. Call today to determine your eligibility and get started.

Volunteer Tutoring Opportunities

We are seeking volunteer tutors! Our literacy program provides free tutoring to EASTCONN adult education students who need help with basic instruction in reading, writing, and math. Tutoring can take place with a one-on-one with a student or in a group setting at an EASTCONN location under the supervision of an EASTCONN staff member. Each volunteer is matched to a student/program by examining the needs of the student(s), the location and time of classes and the volunteer's interests. All volunteers must complete a background check paid for by EASTCONN. View the Volunteer Flyer or call us and apply today!
