Classes are offered both in-person and virtually and are held both day and evening beginning in September. In-person classes are conveniently located throughout northeastern Connecticut. Most programs have open enrollment throughout the school year as well as a five-week summer session.

At this time, you cannot get your GED online. Please beware of any program that promises you your GED through an online class. Learn more about GED Fraud at GED Test-Fraud. Our students do, however, have access to online programs to help them prepare for the GED.

We recommend that you attend a registration session. You will meet with our school counselor who will help you determine whether or not you would benefit from classes.

Adult Education does not offer transportation. However, depending on the program you are attending and the town you live in, we may be able to help you find some resources. Just let us know!

Because all of our students come in with a different educational history, it is not possible to give a one-size-fits-all answer to this question. Once you have met with the guidance counselor, you will have a plan and an estimate of how long it will take you to complete the program.

There is no charge for American Job Center workshops or EASTCONN's classes (high school completion, including GED, English-as-a-Second-Language and citizenship; and basic skills, reading, and math). Community Education classes are priced as marked in the catalog.

Yes, we have a class for the beginning-level student. Our teachers are professionals and will individualize instruction. Most classes are taught in English, but we do offer classes in Spanish in order to help students prepare for the Spanish GED.

Our classes include employability skills such as technology, customer service, resume writing, filling out job applications, interviewing techniques, and dressing for success.

Finally, our transition coach is available to help our students prepare for and find a job and career.

In general, colleges will accept any of the three diplomas. However, there may be other requirements for admittance. The best answer is that you should check directly with the college. Our transition coach works closely with all our students to help ensure a smooth process.

Before deciding on which diploma option you will choose, always check with the recruiter of the branch of the military you are considering. The requirements vary from time to time.
