EASTCONN ADULT EDUCATION

EASTCONN Adult Education helps you reach your goals. Whether you want to finish high school, learn English, become a U.S. citizen, or start a new career, we have programs to help. All our programs are free and open to adults 17 and older.

Finish High School

All programs are free. We offer both online and in-person options, plus Chromebook loans and one-on-one support.

GED Program

Study for four tests to earn your Connecticut high school diploma. Good if you’re starting fresh or didn’t quite finish high school. View our GED School Calendar.

Strengthen Basic Skills

Not ready to jump into high school-level work, but want to brush up on the basics before beginning? We can help you build a foundation of reading and math skills to get you started.

Credit Diploma Program

Already earned some high school credits? We’ll count them toward your diploma. You only take the classes you still need. Choose from classroom, online, or independent study. View our CDP School Calendar.

Support After Completion

Finish your diploma? We help you take the next step. Our free Career Navigation program connects you with coaches who help find the right college or training program for you.

National External Diploma Program (NEDP)

Show what you already know through real-world tasks instead of taking classes. Work one-on-one with an advisor who helps you earn your diploma.

Integrated Education & Training (IET)

Study for your GED or improve your English while training for a job. Our classes combine academics with hands-on career skills. You can earn industry certifications at the same time you work toward your diploma. For more information on specific certifications, see our Career Advancement page.

English & Citizenship

Our free programs are are conveniently offered both online and in-person.

English Classes

Learn to speak, read, and write English. Classes meet mornings, afternoons, or evenings at locations near you. We focus on English you can use every day - at work, at stores, at school, and at home. View our ELL Class Calendar.

Family Literacy Program

Take English classes while your children play and learn in our free childcare. Classes focus on language skills for parenting in the U.S. Available in Windham and Willimantic. Regular attendance required.

Support After Completion

Now that you've started your language journey, we can offer resources and supports to ensure your success.

U.S. Citizenship Classes

Get ready to pass the U.S. Citizenship Test. Our classes focus on the questions used by Immigration Services. We assess each student and provide one-on-one help based on what you need. We’ll also help you fill out your test forms and applications. Classes meet in Willimantic, Danielson, or online.

Literacy Volunteer Tutors Needed

Help adult students learn reading, writing, and math. Tutor one-on-one or in small groups at EASTCONN locations. We match you with students based on your interests, schedule, and student needs. EASTCONN pays for required background checks.

 

College students: We partner with UCONN and ECSU. Ask us how to get connected.

 

New to tutoring English learners? We offer free online training to help you succeed.
